The terms that apply to work performed by A1 Automotive and to your use of this website.

This document is a starting template prepared for A1 Automotive. It is not legal advice. Have a California-licensed attorney review it before you rely on it — particularly the emissions, warranty, and liability sections.
1. Agreement
These Terms govern automotive services performed by A1 Automotive (“A1,” “we,” “us”), located at 5038 Lincoln Avenue, Cypress, California 90630, and your use of this website. By authorizing work or using this site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our services or this site.
2. Estimates, Authorization & Pricing
- You will receive a written estimate and we will obtain your authorization before beginning work, consistent with California automotive repair regulations.
- If the work required exceeds the authorized estimate, we will contact you for approval before continuing.
- Our shop labor rate is $175 per hour. Diagnostic time is billable.
- Prices shown on this website are starting prices for supported platforms. Final pricing depends on your vehicle, its condition, existing modifications, and scope of work. Prices are subject to change without notice.
- Quotes are estimates, not binding offers, until confirmed in writing by A1.
3. Tuning & Motorsports Disclaimer
Performance calibration involves modifying factory engine, transmission, and control-module software. You acknowledge and accept that:
- Performance figures, estimates, and any dyno results are estimates only and are not guaranteed.
- Modified vehicles may experience increased wear on the engine, transmission, drivetrain, brakes, and related components.
- Modifications may reduce component life and may increase the risk of mechanical failure, particularly when the vehicle is operated at elevated output.
- We do not guarantee horsepower, torque, reliability, durability, lap times, race results, or street legality.
4. Emissions & Legal Compliance (Important)
California has among the strictest vehicle emissions laws in the United States. Certain performance modifications and calibrations are not legal for use on public roads and are offered strictly for closed-course, competition, or off-road use on vehicles that are not operated on public highways.
- It is the vehicle owner's sole responsibility to understand and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the federal Clean Air Act, EPA regulations, California Air Resources Board (CARB) requirements, and the California Vehicle Code.
- We do not remove, disable, defeat, or render inoperative any emissions control device on a vehicle represented to be operated on public roads.
- Modified vehicles may fail state emissions or smog inspection.
- By requesting competition or off-road-only services, you represent that the vehicle will be used accordingly.
5. Manufacturer Warranty
Performance modifications and software calibration may void or limit some or all of your vehicle's manufacturer warranty, and a manufacturer or dealer may detect that a control module has been reprogrammed. A1 is not responsible for any warranty claim denied by a manufacturer or dealer as a result of modifications.
6. Our Workmanship & Parts Warranty
- We stand behind our workmanship. Labor warranty terms are stated on your invoice.
- Parts carry only the warranty offered by their manufacturer. We pass through manufacturer warranties but do not extend our own warranty to third-party parts.
- Customer-supplied parts: we may decline to install them. If we do install them, we do not warrant the part, and labor to remove or reinstall a failed customer-supplied part is billable.
- Warranty does not cover damage from abuse, racing, competition use, neglect, improper fuel, subsequent modification by others, or pre-existing conditions.
7. Vehicle Condition & Pre-Existing Issues
Tuning and performance work assume a mechanically healthy vehicle. We may decline to tune or modify a vehicle that presents faults, excessive wear, or deferred maintenance. A1 is not responsible for pre-existing conditions or for failures of components that were already worn, damaged, or at the end of their service life.
8. Payment, Storage & Vehicle Pickup
- Payment is due in full upon completion, before vehicle release.
- Deposits may be required for parts orders and may be non-refundable once parts are ordered.
- Vehicles left after notice of completion may incur daily storage fees, and vehicles abandoned for an extended period may be subject to a mechanic's lien under California law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by California law, A1's total liability arising out of or relating to any service is limited to the amount you paid for that service. A1 is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost time, lost profits, towing, rental vehicles, or loss of use. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
10. Assumption of Risk & Indemnification
You acknowledge that operating a modified, high-performance vehicle carries inherent risk. You assume that risk and agree to indemnify and hold harmless A1 Automotive, its owners, and its employees from claims arising out of your operation of the vehicle after service, including any use on public roads that violates applicable law.
11. Use Of This Website
Content on this site is provided for general information. We aim for accuracy but do not warrant that all information — including vehicle fitment, year ranges, specifications, or pricing — is complete or current. Fitment is always confirmed by VIN before work begins. All site content, branding, and the A1Tuned name are the property of A1 Automotive.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Venue for any dispute shall lie in Orange County, California.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms at any time. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version.
